Top Pacific Engineering combines two technologies to create a unique solution to waste. Municipal solid waste
(MSW) is processed MSW to provide the following valuable products:
- Recovered Steel
- Recovered Aluminum
- Recovered Other Metals
- #2 Diesel Fuel
- Activated Carbon and/or Carbon Black
- Carbon Credits
The first technology used is a unique, proven, production-ready catalytic depolymerization technology (KDV) to convert MSW into #2 Diesel. This diesel fuel, also called mineral diesel or synthetic diesel, is immediately suitable for mixing with standard Diesel to form Diesel D20 (20% biodiesel blended with regular diesel). The Diesel conforms to local standards.
The processing units come in different sizes and are applicable to a wide range of applications. The units are measured by their nominal production volumes in liters per hour (LPH) produced: KDV 1000, KDV 2000, and KDV 5000. Our projects in the CIS States will use the KDV 2000 units for MSW and a pyrolysis technology for tires and medical waste. These technologies have been selected because they are commercialized and in production and both provide a “zero emission” technical solution to converting landfill waste.
Any carbon-based material is suitable for conversion into energy products using this process. Carbonaceous waste products include municipal solid waste, tires, used oils, wood and yard waste, construction and demolition waste, animal, manure, sludge from sewage treatment plants and medical waste. Each facility can also accept source material from existing landfill sites thus prolonging their lives and ultimately reducing their size.
The second technology used outfits a facility to use a pyrolysis technology that converts tires and medical waste into a high quality #2 diesel fuel, and a high quality carbon black, which is used in the manufacturing of plastic and tires.
In addition, a state-of-the-art water treatment process is used which treats the water that is recovered from the MSW into clean water. The water treatment and filtration system uses no chemicals and is unique in that it produces ozone, ultraviolet light and hydroxyl ions to completely disinfect and remove all chemical, petroleum and biohazards to negligible levels. The water processed will exceed all water specifications to release to the environment. Some of the water may be further treated with membrane reverse osmosis technology to provide drinking water.
These technologies are unique in that they conform to zero emissions requirements, with zero emissions to the air, water, or ground creating a truly environmentally conscious solution.
